Donate to Share Food Program: Nov 1 - Dec 20
City Committee has created a wonderful opportunity to give back in November & we have extended this opportunity throughout December 20th! Donate to Share Food Program by asking your server to add your donation to your dining or bar bill. You can donate any amount you wish. 16% of our neighbors go to bed hungry. This month, please donate to help them get something warm to eat! Mission: Share Food Program leads the fight against food insecurity in the Greater Philadelphia region by serving an expansive, quality partner network of community-based organizations and school districts engaged in food distribution, education, and food justice advocacy. Each month, Share Food Program: Distributes millions of pounds of emergency food relief, in partnership with nearly 400 pantry partners, food sites, and community-based organizations located in neighborhoods of higher poverty across our five-county region Provides nutrition for over 300,000 children across nearly 800 schools and 70 school districts across 5 counties through the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) Feeds more than 7,000 seniors through Senior Food Box Program (SFBP) and serving more than 115 senior sites in the region Home delivers 4,000+ food boxes directly to seniors and people with disabilities Works with around 600 volunteers who support food packing, calling, and distribution Rescues and redistributes an average of 800,000 pounds of fresh food through our Philly Food Rescue program; 5.4M total in 2022 Supplies fresh produce and nutritional education to 1000+ families within the School District of Philadelphia Grows and harvests 4,000+ pounds of food (annually) from our onsite Nice Roots Farm to donate to Share-affiliated pantries, community fridges, and mutual aid networks Instagram and X/Twitter: @sharefoodphilly Facebook: @sharefood Every dollar helps Share Food Program deliver nutritious food to vulnerable individuals and families throughout Greater Philadelphia.
